Why should you choose the Qualified® test?

The risk for Down syndrome in pregnant women aged 35 is 1:360

Why you should choose the Qualified® prenatal test?

  • -          The accuracy of this test is over 99.9%, the fetal fraction is analyzed with the latest 4.0 technology.
  •     It is comprehensive. Over 100 microdeletions and duplications.
  •    It is safe, there are no health risks to the mother and the baby.
  •    You will not be alone. This test is done under consultation of a team of experts.
  •    It is fast. You will get the results in 3 to 5 business days from the time the sample is received by the laboratory.
  •           It is convenient. It can be done in twin and IVF pregnancies.

High success rate

In 99.4% of the cases, the Qualified® test will provide a result on genetic syndromes.

The probability that the Qualified® test can be performed successfully depends greatly on how much cell free fetal DNA is found in the mother’s blood. The percentage of cffDNA also depends on the length of pregnancy (the earlier the pregnancy, the lower the percentage of cffDNA), as well as on the mother’s weight (the higher the mother’s weight, the less baby’s cffDNA will be isolated).

The quantity of circulating free fetal DNA

In order to determine a specific chromosomal disorder in the fetus, the quantity of the cell free fetal DNA (“fetal fraction”) has to be at least 2% in the mother’s blood. The Qualified® test can be done from the 10th week of pregnancy (GW 10 + 0), because the quantity of the fetal DNA in the mother’s blood increases as the pregnancy progresses. By the 21st week of pregnancy, the quantity of the baby’s DNA is increased by 0.1% from week to week, while after the 21st gestational week, the quantity increases by 1.1%.

The partner laboratory measures “fetal fraction” at each Qualified ® test. If the fetal fraction is below 2%, the test cannot be evaluated. Bio Save Lab then gets notified by the laboratory in Italy that a new blood sample needs to be submitted at a later date and afterwards informs the client thereof.
